Prevention & Routine

Prevention & Routine

Your pet - family doctor

Starting with vaccination over feeding advice to claw cutting - we offer all regular veterinary services during our consultation hours. Through regular preventive and routine examinations, we want to create the conditions for a long and healthy life of your four-legged friend.

Routine check / annual examination

As with humans, a routine check once a year is recommended for animals. We examine your animal, in older animals we also take a closer look at the blood and, if necessary, the heart. Only in the case of abnormalities further examinations are added in order to clarify the problems of the patient more precisely.

Internal Medicines

Many diseases affect the internal organs, such as the respiratory or digestive system, the pancreas, the immune or hormonal system.

In many cases, these diseases can be detected by a detailed medical history and other diagnostics - such as blood tests and then be treated in a targeted manner.

Vaccinations are also an important prophylaxis for animals to protect them from infectious diseases. Together with you, we will discuss which basic vaccinations we would recommend individually for your pet. We are happy to create a vaccination certificate in order to document each vaccination exactly. With the vaccinations, we comply with the recommendations of the "Guidelines for the Vaccination of Small Animals of the Standing Vaccination Commission Vet". Even when travelling abroad, we advise you comprehensively on the necessary vaccinations.

Skin diagnostics

Diseases of the skin such as itching, redness and allergies are often an external sign of a deeper internal problem, e.B. endocrinological (hormonal) diseases. We take the time to analyze the problem in detail and find the cause in order to be able to help the patient quickly and in the long term.

Parasite control and treatment

Worms, fleas, ticks, mites, lice – parasites also occur relatively often in pets. Not only are parasites annoying, but they can also become dangerous to your pet through transmission of disease and tissue damage. Therefore, we recommend regular precautions and checks and also pay attention to whether your animal (as far as externally visible) is infested with parasites during each visit.

Diet food / medicinal food

Some diseases require a certain diet for your animals, which can positively support the healing process. We offer you special medical food that is tailored to the respective clinical picture and of course depends on the well-being and individual needs of your animal. Just contact us directly – we will be happy to give you a free sample to test.

In addition, we also advise you on the right nutrition for your animal.

Dogs, cats and ferrets can be identified by a microchip on which the owner and address are registered. The chip, which is about the size of a rice grain, is painlessly implanted on the left side of your animal's neck with the help of a syringe. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Travel Medicine

You want to travel with your pet? For a relaxed trip, we will create the necessary travel profiles and veterinary certificates and will be happy to advise you on what you should consider when traveling with your pet.

Care of chronically ill patients

Chronically ill patients are also very important to us, because they often need intensive and close care. We are happy to take the time for a gentle but intensive treatment and advise you together on a suitable strategy for care at home.

Accompaniment of seniors / palliative care

Older semesters often need particularly intensive and loving care. Even despite joint and heart failure, we can give your pet a high quality of life with the right treatment. For all questions and worries, we are happy to be your contact person and will be happy to take care of your pet.

Say goodbye

Unfortunately, we cannot help all our patients. Sometimes a difficult decision has to be made. When there is no more hope and an animal suffers, one should face up to its responsibility and accept the limits of what is medically feasible. This is also difficult for us as veterinarians.

When it's time to say goodbye, we don't want to leave you alone. We will advise, inform and accompany you as much as possible. We can also come to your home for euthanasia. Talk to us about a suitable date.

We work together with Tierbestattung im Rosengarten. All animals that stay with us are cremated there. Alternatively, you can also choose an undertaker yourself.
